Serving the Santa Monica Tile community is our Award Winning Beverly Hills Tile Showroom. Our showroom is located in the heart of the City of Beverly Hills and offers a stunning array of tile that fits the styles and needs of the Santa Monica community. Santa Monica is a beachfront city in Western Los Angeles County, California. It is situated on Santa Monica Bar, and is bordered by Brentwood on the North, Pacific Palisades on the Northwest, West Los Angeles on the Northeast, Mar Vista on the East, and Venice on the Southeast. Santa Monica homes have a large variety of styles ranging from Spanish Colonial around the coast, Contemporary along the beachfront, to the traditional Santa Monica Bungalows scattered around the neighborhood. Each of these distinctive styles is what makes Santa Monica such a distinctive and cultural neighborhood. Santa Monica tile can be defined by each of these three styles such as the Spanish Colonial which contains mostly terracotta colors with various reds and burgundies, whereas the contemporary beachfront homes traditionally feature large format glass tiles in whites and taupe’s that are complimented by porcelain tiles in natural hues. Spanish Colonial is one of my favorite architectural styles when it comes to homes for the abundance of materials that can be used is a great tool for both clients and their designers. There are numerous products that can be used for flooring in these types of homes such as traditional Saltillo Tiles, Terracotta Tiles, and even Concrete Tile with various staining.
For the beachfront homes, Santa Monica Tile has transitioned itself into larger format tile to create a more seamless installation with less lines and busyness than is commonly found with a staggered tile installation. We carry a multitude of glass tiles and colors that are available in large formats such as 16”x16” all the way up to a 24”x24”. The advantage of using such large tiles is that there are fewer grout lines which in-turn creates a much cleaner and simpler look. Many of our customers have begun using large-format porcelains in 24”x48” sizes that are meant to resemble poured-concrete to create a minimalistic floor. The advantage of using such tiles on the floor is that any possible art-work on the walls can really stand out and pop when put up against such color-ways. One of our more popular tiles for contemporary and modern installations are Ultra-glossy white porcelain tiles in large sizes such as 24”x24” and 32”x32”. Many of our clients prefer using these large polished porcelain tiles due to the fact that they are easy to maintain as well as look and feel like the white thassos marble. We carry a large selection of large format porcelain tiles in either polished or matte finishes that can fit the needs of any Santa Monica Tile project.
One of the most popular Santa Monica Tile styles is the famous Santa Monica Bungalow. The arts and crafts movements that started the craftsman and bungalow style was meant to emphasize the artistry of individual craftsman all while using the subtle beauty of natural colors at the same time. The typical bungalow is a one-and-a-half story home with an open floor plan, wide verandas and a sloping roof. The interior of these homes generally contains numerous “built-ins” such as cabinets, shelves, and seats scattered throughout the house. Many of our customers who are updating their bungalow or craftsman style homes decide to install porcelain tiles that look like wood due to the ease of maintenance as opposed to using real wood. The colors are very soft and generally are in the cherry or maple tones. We carry a large selection of wood looking tiles in various finishes and sizes to fit the tastes of our eclectic customers. Many of our wood tiles are available in true wood planking sizes such as 6”x36” or 9”x36” in order to be installed just like real wood.
