Northridge Tile is located in the Northwest part of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County. Northridge Tile is generally a very traditional tile featured in many homes that were built in the 1950’s. Northridge is adjacent to Porter Ranch and Granada Hills to the North, Reseda to the South, Chatsworth and Winnetka to the West and North Hills to the East. Northridge is a highly diverse, affluent, and well educated neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. Its diverse population makes the Northridge one of the most highly diverse neighborhoods in the Los Angeles area. Northridge is famously known for its earthquake in 1994 which leveled numerous homes and freeways in the vicinity.
Northridge Tile can be defined as very traditional while being transitional at the same time. Many of the homes that were damaged after the earthquake needed extensive renovations in both the bathrooms and the kitchens. Many of these homes were retrofitted in the late 90’s with porcelain tile as opposed to the more traditional ceramic tile found in older homes in the neighborhood. Most of the Northridge Tile found in the older homes in the area feature the more traditional colorful ceramic tiles in the bathrooms as opposed to the transitional homes which included more marble tile and porcelain tile.
The porcelain tile used in the Northridge area features many of the warm colors and tones that are found in the vicinity. Many of the porcelain tones feature beige and soft browns to coincide with the vast greenery and foliage that is found in the area. We have numerous clients who are looking for wood-looking tile since their home features many wood beams and lots of real wood. The advantage of these wood-looking tiles is the durability is un-matched as opposed to the real wood. Please make sure to visit our Canoga Park showroom to shop for all of your Northridge Tile needs.
